Ensemble Cantate Iterum is a professional ensemble of singers and instrumentalists committed to performing beloved choral and orchestral works of the Baroque and Classical eras of music.
Artistic Director
Johann VanIttersum holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and English as well as a Bachelor of Christian Education Degree from Redeemer University in Ancaster. He studied voice with soprano Tannis Sprott and conducting with conductor and organist Dr. Christiaan Teeuwsen. Currently, he’s studying voice and interpretation with international tenor Robert MacLaren. Johann has a deep appreciation for sacred oratorio and passion music. In recent years, Johann has conducted major choral works, including Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Haydn’s Creation. As a baritone, he is a chorister and soloist with the Arcady Ensemble, the Brott Festival Chorus, and Choral Connection. Besides conducting Ensemble Cantate Iterum, Johann is also the artistic director of Oxford Collegium Singers. At Oxford Reformed Christian School, Johann teaches secondary English and Music. Johann’s day is not complete if it hasn’t included music by Johann Sebastian Bach. SDG
